What a dream of a dress. So very beautiful.
The sizing is lovely. The fabric is a very lightweight cotton but not flimsy. The extended sleeve is wonderful. Much nicer (in my opinion) to the usual half sleeve H&R is famous for. A lovely v neck. Comes with a belt which is a nice extra.
Also - Pockets.
I was very excited to see this style and especially in tartan.
I’m afraid it will have to be returned. The sizing is unbelievably small. I would say it’s a whole size too small.

I just bought this dress from a US retailer and I am immediately obsessed I love it so much. Why are there no other colors or prints in this dress!? I need more!!
A beautiful-looking coat, but even though you're advised to go one size up as it fits small, I'd suggest two. One size up for me was still much too tight around the upper arms/shoulders, tight across the chest and didn't give enough swing in the skirt of the coat.
It's fully lined, nice thick material and is a lovely colour and I can imagine it looks amazing if you have the right size!
This was going to be my winter coat, so disappointment means a star off for each size it's too small.
A lovely Autumn dress. As I like to dance in my dresses without any fitting or riding up issues, I go for a size up from my normal dress size and this makes sure there is enough height from shoulder to waist. I love the burgundy colour with the contrast florals.

Purchased the Penny Swing Dress. Really pretty, flattering style, lovely material with a slight stretch, well made garment. Love the pockets! The ordering and returns process is easy to use and the refund system is very efficient. Just email if you have any questions and you'll be answered within a day or so. Highly recommend this company.

I’ve had this dress 2 years now and it still looks as lovely as when I first bought it.
I’m afraid I had to return this dress.
There were several reasons.
The length of the dress was much too long for me. I have never had a H&R dress as long as this one. It was only just above my ankle. All my others (I have many) are just below the knee.
The waist area was very snug.
The glitter fabric was on the inside of the neckline and was very scratchy when worn.
It is a shame because, the dress is beautiful.

Arriving only 2 days after purchasing, in a box big enough to prevent any damage, I recieved my new blue leopard print clip top handbag. It's totally outrageous! Its possibly the best handbag I've ever owned! The kind of handbag that walks itself into a room. It needs it's own theme tune.
It's just a handbag you are thinking, true it is just a handbag but it's also a conversation piece, its a 1950's pastiche gone crazy! Its so cartoon.
Where are the shoes to match I wonder? ....

Such lovely dresses which get so many compliments when I wear them - every one I have received fits perfectly and looks beautiful. It is worth checking if they recommend sizing up, as I needed to on the dress I just bought, as some do fit tighter. Delivery was prompt.

Love this dress!! Fits amazingly well, I'd say true to size, so order what you would normally. Great material with stretch and not see-through.
HOWEVER - it's listed in the description as having side seam pockets...... there are no pockets ? Every girls dreams of finding a fabulous dress with pockets but sadly this dream didn't come true.
It's still a lovely dress though and would recommend. Postage was quick and packaged well.

I’ve bought this dress for my wedding blessing in Ypres, Belgium. I was a bit worried about buying a dress ‘online’ as sizing has been an issue in the past from other companies. I ordered and received this dress within a week. It fits perfectly and is absolutely beautiful. The material feels lovely and it is so expertly crafted. I wear two petticoats under it which gives a cute fifties look. My best friend Annie is very jealous and is hoping that she will be able to buy one for herself. I have purchased several dresses from this store and I am very happy with them. There is also an Australian store but the London store has more stock. Highly Recommended.

Just bought this and I love it! Really wasn't sure, when I tried it on, that it was going to be a flattering shape for a size 18 short body but it looks great and I had a lot of compliments on its first outing.

This is a lovely dress and it is very high quality. The label says size 26 but it fits like size 24. I have purchased four similar size 26 dresses from Hearts and Roses Australia which had a bit of wriggle room under the bust. This dress is tight with no wriggle room at all.
Gorgeous heavyweight coat and a fabulous green too! I would definitely size up though especially if you have a decent sized bust. I love mine especially the fullness of the skirt it makes any outfit extra special ?

I just received it and tried it on. It fits perfectly and feels great. At first I thought it might show too much of my hips which I don't want to show because of my size but the fabric is hiding them and the dress is showing just the right amount of curves. Very flattering. I'm happy!

Bought the summer loving swing dress to go to a wedding. The material was not quite what I expected but it was light and hangs well. The dress is beautiful. I wore it with a layered net petticoat and a thin red belt (the colour of the flowers in the dress) and got loads of compliments. Would definitely recommend.

I love love love the vast majority of Hearts and Roses dresses. I've spent most nights this week pouring over them and pondering which to buy, trying to dwindle down to two or three choices for this season. I am 64 years old and adore 1950's clothes. They are very flattering to my figure, In fact I wished your warehouse was down the bottom of my road so as I can nip in every day.

this coat looks lovely and is really warm to wear, however the sizing is really really wrong, i'm a size 16(uk) with a size 18-20 chest and quite broad shoulders for a woman, knowing this i ordered a size 20 first which fit more like a 14-16 very tight over my shoulders and having a three inch gap at the front that i couldn't close the buttons over, so i asked for a return and swap for a size 24, the return was easy and i had a new coat within ten days, i cannot fault this companies service, however when i tried on the size 24 jacket i still found it tight across the shoulders and around the arm holes, it fits snugly across my chest and once the laces are done up on the back the waist area fits pretty well too but the shoulders are going to be an issue whenever i wear it, my suggestion to the manufacturer would be to actually get some modern sizes measurements and start using them because the measurements you are using seem to be about 75 years out of date, women have broader backs and shoulders now than they did in the 50's and when you size up make the back broader as well as the front, this is a lovely jacket and i will be wearing it a lot i hope my suggestions are considered as id love for more people who are not undersized to be able to wear it too

I have many swing dresses, but this one is my favourite by miles. It's a fabulous fit, I have a small waist and shoulders, but am hideously busty. This dress fits beautifully and makes me feel feminine rather than matronly, as I usually do. The colours are gorgeous. I feel at my best wearing it, always getting lots of compliments in it.
The fabric is crisp and fresh too and it washes and irons perfectly.
Ordered this dress a few days ago it was delivered very quickly it is a perfect fit true to size and it looks amazing I am going to put a red net petticoat underneath and swap the belt for a red one can't wait to wear it. The skirt is very full and looks well made

I love this jacket. I bought it last year and the number of compliments I got were close to never ending. The buttons aren't sewn on properly, though, so one came off after a week of wearing it. The jacket itself is also rather heavy. Even more so when it's raining. Nevertheless, I love this coat and wouldn't trade it for anything else!

I bought this from a vendor in Camden. It fits so much better than I thought it would and the fabric is really high quality. The lacing at the back makes it very customisable. It really accentuates my curves and flatters my waist. 10/10 recommend it's so hot

This dress is so pretty and makes me feel like a princess when I spin! I’m grateful that the dress is elastic and adjustable so I can wear it no matter how my body changes (I am only 16). This coat was my first ever purchase, contacted customer support as was not sure about sizing. They were so helpful so I took the plunge. Am I usually a high street size 12, and ordered this in a 12. It is a tad bit tight across the back if I put my arms straight out but that’s fine. All in all this coat is way beyond what I expected. It is very heavy which I love, the fabric is amazing and it is such a flattering cut. I will definitely be purchasing more of the swing coats in the near future. Bought this recently and am over the moon with it. It's such a beautiful dress. It's a pretty good fit - I bought size 20 and I usually wear approx size 18-20. I have a fairly large bust and it fits perfectly there. It is slightly gaping at the back of the neck area, but I think I could fix this with a few stitches.
The material feels really good quality - quite thick. I tried the dress on to show my husband and he said he thinks it's the nicest dress he's ever seen me wear. The bow on the front is really cute. The colours are really vibrant and pretty. The shape is flattering too - I am not particularly slim, and this dress does a good job of hiding my tummy! Overall, I'm really happy with it and can't wait to find an excuse to wear it out somewhere!

I got the size 8, fits nicely, a bit snug around the bust. I didn't like the ribbon so I swapped it with a PVC belt (looks much nicer). I also removed the netting from the lining, I thought it looked cheap on this dress and it was a little scratchy against my legs. The dress is much heavier cotton than what I expected, good for cooler weather but probably overkill for summer temps. Overall it's quite lovely.
